The Three Counties Ancient History Society was formed in August 1997 as a forum for education and entertainment based on a shared interest in the civilisations of the eastern Mediterranean: Egypt, Anatolia, Aegean and the Near East.
The Three Counties are Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire in England, although the society also serves members in the neighbouring counties of Warwickshire, West Midlands and Oxfordshire.
Meetings take the form of either talks by high quality speakers or guided trips to museums or other places of interest. Additionally, we tap into the wealth of knowledge and experience of the members, both through the quarterly Newsletter and at "home grown" meetings.
Membership is £10 per year, which gives entrance to meetings for £1, four free Newsletters, and inclusion on our mailing list for receipt of information about events, evening classes, exhibitions and the like. Guests and non-members are always welcome to attend any of our meetings (charge slightly more - £2.50 I think) and events. There are reduced rates for under 18s and full time students of £5 Membership and £1 guest rate.
Upton Snodsbury Village Hall, off the A422 between Worcester and Stratford, is the venue for Meetings which start at 7.30 pm sharp. Coffee and tea are usually available before and after meetings.
There is car parking in the village (see map), but in the absence of street lighting it is advisable to bring a torch in winter (unless it is a clear night with a full moon!). Drivers are politely asked not to block residents' driveways.
